Gospel Promotion at Pickin’ on the Plains In order to raise awareness of the positive message and great family atmosphere at the Pickin’ on the Plains Bluegrass Festival, the Colby Bluegrass Committee is doing a new gospel promotion for the churches this year. We annually hold a gospel sing-along at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday—and it has long been a favorite event for both festival attendees and bands. The bands play together on gospel tunes while the audience joins in singing praise to God. A brief faith message will also be included.

If a group of 10 (or more) adults (ages 17 & over) come to the ticket booth together on Sunday morning (July 20, 2008), and identify themselves as members of a given church, they will be able to purchase a Sunday ticket (normally $15 per person) for just $10 per person!

Pickin’ on the Plains is the tri-state areas best-kept secret—right here in our own backyard—where people don’t have to spend much $4.00/gallon gasoline to take advantage of a really great event! We feel that the positive faith and family messages in bluegrass and gospel music, along with the great family atmosphere at Pickin’ on the Plains are so vital to maintain (but rarely promoted) in today’s society.
